Q: How are you navigating through COVID-19?
A:
Please see our COVID-19 Response Tab to learn how we are doing our very best to keep everyone safe as we fellowship together.
Q: What was the inspiration of the name “The Olive Branch”?
A:
In the Bible (Genesis 8:11) the Olive Branch, aka an Olive Leaf, is a symbol of restoration and hope, both of which we believe Jesus Christ brings into our lives as we draw near to Him through faith. Here at The Olive Branch, our desire is to help real people like you and us, living real lives, connect with a Real Living God. We desire to help you develop your Faith in Jesus Christ, which will ultimately bring you the Hope, Love and Peace that Jesus came to give.
Q: What is “TOB”?
A:
In a nut shell, it’s just a simple catchy abbreviation of “The Olive Branch”. We will often use either term to identify us here at The Olive Branch Church,
Q: What is the origin of The Olive Branch church?
A:
The Olive Branch has been serving our Hemet/San Jacinto community for over 25 years. The church began as a home fellowship and has grown into a real family of people, like you, who love and care for one another. Along with many faithful men and women, we continue to tell the world of a wonderful loving God, who has an awesome plan for your life. Our desire is to make a good difference in our community and the world we live in.
Q: What can I expect at The Olive Branch?
A:
Foremost you can expect that the uncompromised Word of God is taught and that Jesus Christ is Lord of our church. We are a family oriented church serving all people, all ages with a basic desire to do life together. We currently offer two Sunday morning worship services at 8:30am and 10:30am and a mid-week all-ages Bible study at 6:30pm. TOB meets at our own campus that is as warm and inviting as the people that meet there. While here you will find that we are a diverse multi-generational, multi-ethnic group of regular people whom all have a desire to grow in our relationship to the Lord. You will be warmly greeted as you enter and feel welcome while you are here with us.
Q: What are the messages like?
A:
Helpful, without being boring. The message is usually multi-sensory (making use of power point, visual aids and a few pastoral expressions which keeps your attention). We are a Full-Gospel, Pentecostal Church, affiliated with the Assemblies of God which basically means we believe that the whole Bible is applicable and useful in our journey with God. We embrace the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, to achieve solid growth and understanding of God’s Will and Word for our lives. We believe that Jesus is the Head of the church and that we must always allow His Holy Spirit to determine how He desires His church to flow.
- Our Sunday morning preaching focuses on biblical exposition and practical application, with our ultimate goal of teaching people how to apply God’s Word to our daily lives.
- Our Wednesday mid-week service focuses on going through each book of the Bible verse by verse, learning all the glorious truths about God and applying it to our lives.
Q: What is the song worship like?
A:
The song worship part of the service offers a unique experience that allows you to praise and worship the Lord in many styles. Every believer is called to be a worshipper in Spirit and in truth.
- During our Sunday and Wednesday services, we enjoy singing a variety of contemporary uplifting praise songs. Together we will lift up our voices and hands, clap and rejoice as we praise and worship the Lord.
- The focus of our worship is not on based on a certain style; rather it is on seeking God’s presence through the experience of authentic worship. This means worship for us is not a passive experience performed by the folks up front, but rather a time that all people can get involved together and bless the Lord in song.
Q: What is the dress code at The Olive Branch?
A:
At TOB we do not require anyone to be more than they are. We truly want you to come as you are without the pressures of a dress code. We only ask that each one that comes into the House of God respectfully dressed as not to dishonor themselves or the Lord.
Q: Do you offer a youth program?
A: (we are currently seeking new Youth Leaders to help us bless our youth)
